Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In February 2014, my husband, Michael Cox, died of cancer at the age of just 62. On 10th April 2019, exactly 5 years since we celebrated Michael's life in a memorial service at Southwark Cathedral, I will be setting out to remember him in my own way - by walking 188 miles along the Coast to Coast footpath from St.Bees in Cumbria to Robin Hood's Bay in North Yorkshire.
I plan to walk alone, carrying my own pack, and to stay at B&B's and pubs along the route. I'm hoping to complete the challenge in 13 days. My aim is to raise funds in Michael's memory, and the cause I have chosen is one I know he would have supported - the Winchester Hospice appeal. There is currently NO hospice in Winchester and when Michael was ill we had to travel to Basingstoke to access palliative care. The Winchester Hospice appeal aims to raise £3million to refurbish Burrell House ( adjacent to Winchester Hospital) and transform it into 10 bedroom hospice.
Please help me to raise vital funds for this fantastic cause, in memory of a very special man.
