Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As most of you know, I'm a fell runner not a road runner. For me, to undertake the London marathon is going to be quite a challenge. I've done one marathon and two ultra races (all off road) in the last couple of years so I can do the distance, but can I do it on the road?

If you chose to sponsor me your donation goes straight to Glossop Mountain Rescue Team - 100% volunteers, available 24/7/365 (yes, even on Christmas Day). The team do very little fundraising (the exception being through December when they take Santa and his sleigh around the local streets, much to the delight of children and adults). They rely almost entirely on donations to rescue people in distress,  to cover the cost of equipment, training and medical supplies that are used to save lives.

My partner is on the team, so I know the amount of time, effort and dedication each member gives throughout the year. As I run through the streets of London I will be running 'virtual hill miles' in their honour. I'll compile a list of locations the team has been called out to in 2016, to commit to memory and use as mantras as I make my way towards The Mall.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
