Our food bank is a lifeline for those in crisis, providing weekly emergency food parcels to families in Walker and Byker. When we can, we also offer essential hygiene products, baby supplies, and pet food.
Story
Building Futures East charity have been running for over 13 years supporting community development in the east end of Newcastle. We're based in Walker ward which is one of the most deprived wards in the North East and people we support overcome many challenges on a daily basis. Even before the crisis, 42% of residents in Walker struggled to access food and 1/3 of the population live with long-term health conditions or disabilities.
Families in Newcastle are struggling to make ends meet during the crisis. As we continue to live with the devastating impacts of Covid-19, the cost of living crisis is making things harder. We need your help to keep the project going.
Funds raised will also help us to support women who have been subjected to domestic or intimate partner abuse, by enabling us to continue to deliver The Freedom Programme and our Women Only Workshops focussing on self-esteem and confidence building.
