Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My sister-in-law, Lorraine was diagnosed with Stage IV Ovarian Cancer in 2011, age 41. She had a full hysterectomy and some chemotherapy. In 2013 cancer had spread to her lymph nodes and the surface of her bowel.
Lorraine had chemotherapy again with Avastin, which made her feel ill and really depressed, but it had stabilised the cancer. She is now on maintenance Avastin every three weeks. She seems to be responding well to it.
Target Ovarian Cancer Charity raises awareness of the symptoms of this awful disease and is campaigning for better treatment. The symptoms are very similar to other less serious illnesses & women are often diagnosed too late.
7,000 women are diagnosed each year in the UK and sadly 4,300 women lose their lives each year.
Please support me with this cause to help save more lives and to break the silence. Ovarian Cancer is not a silent killer and if detected early enough women are more likely to live beyond 5 years.
