We support people who have Down's Syndrome to live life to the full

Story

Can I ask a favour? Can all my Facebook friends wear odd socks on 21st March which is World Downs Syndrome Awareness day and POST PICTURES on my wall in memory of my granddaughter Dorothy-Ann who died 19 November 2021 aged just 3½.

The date is the 21st day of the 3rd month to signify the uniqueness of the triplication of the 21st chromosome which causes Down Syndrome.  Socks have been used as the symbol because chromosomes are shaped "like socks" and people with Down's syndrome are born with an extra one.

The theme this year is With us, not for us. Meaning a human rights-based approach views people with disabilities as having the right to be treated fairly and have the same opportunities as everyone else, working With others to improve their lives.
