Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Oliver was the gorgeous baby boy of my best friend and her husband. He was tragically killed in a road accident just metres from his house on a notorious blackspot on the A75. Oliver was only 18 days old. His parents have started to attend monthly SANDS meetings and have found it great comfort.
When they mentioned to me that SANDS is a self-funded charity, I decided that I wanted to do something to help raise as much money for the charity as I possibly could.
Those who know me that running a half marathon is one of the hardest challenges for me to do. Firstly I am an ex-smoker who used to watch fitness dvds with a cigarette in one hand and a bar of chocolate in the other. Not exactly the epitomy of a marathon runner.
Secondly, I have a condition called fibromyalgia. For those who don't know what this is it's a condition that affects my nerve endings and muscles. So on a bad day it has been known for me not be able to stand up straight let alone walk, and a simple knock to a joint can feel like I've broken itl!!!! SO for me to be able to run 13 miles will be a near miracle but I am determined to it for Oliver and my best mates.
It's gonna give me something to focus on and aim towards and hopefully help towards me coming to terms with Oliver's death.
