Story
I pledge to walk to the sea (from Manchester) (dressed as a whale) and then get in it (the sea). I will do this on the 2nd April (Saturday) and will document most of the entire thing.
The distance is about 40 miles (or 65 kilometres) from my house to the sea. The average walking speed is 5 kilometres per hour. So, it should take me about 13 hours to reach the sea, not factoring in the weight of the whale costume.
The money will go to Earthwatch, whose website is here:
http://www.earthwatch.org/europe/
Who organise trips like this:

on behalf of the Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust, whose website is here:

In return for my raising £995, I will be able to take part on a scientific research voyage as a researcher and monitor the marine wildlife around the British Isles.
The money you donate will go towards supporting these charities/institutions and helping to protect species whose existence is vital to the smooth running of this fine planet.
I probably want to do this more than anything else in the world, so please sponsor me and I promise to upload photographs of myself in a patchwork whale costume entering the cold Liverpudlian sea.
I thank you for the bottom of my whaley heart. Please sponsor me!
Warm hugs,
Lydia
(PS. Feel free to sponsor me in person if you only want to give me £1 or something.)
