Hello!
And here we go again, another event and another Justgiving page. On April 24th 2016 myself and my good friend Grayson Sarath will be pounding the mean streets of London as we tackle the 26.2 miles that make up the London Marathon. For me it will be my second stab at it after completing it in 2013 but for Grayson this is his first go and he is giving it his all in his training to get ready for the big day. Anybody who has ever trained or competed in anything similar will know the time and effort that goes on behind the scenes to get yourselves up for this huge task.
This is of course all part of the bigger picture as we seek to raise £250,000 for CLIC Sargent Children with Cancer via www.justgiving.com/teams/target250k for the Veronica Claxton Memorial Fund, a fund I set up in 2009 after losing my mum to cancer. The last few years have really seen our fundraising take off and our all time fundraising now stands at £140,000 (as of November 2015)
We appreciate there are so many people fundraising nowadays and you can't help everybody but if you have anything you can spare please bear us in mind and help us along our merry way.
Thanks as always for your amazing support.
Luke Claxton and Grayson Sarath
CLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, and their families. We provide clinical, practical, financial and emotional support to help them cope with cancer and get the most out of life. We are there from diagnosis onwards and aim to help the whole family deal with the impact of cancer and its treatment, life after treatment and, in some cases, bereavement.
