Story
This year I’m tackling my hardest challenge yet, an extreme 20 mile race in the mountains. Starting at the Sea, running up and over Snowdon then down to tackle a range of obstacles including swimming across a quarry, climbing a vertical kilometre, abseiling and then into a final round of obstacles to complete the 20 mile race!!
Dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in the late 80s at a young age and complications in the last decade made life very hard for him – but he never complained. Dad loved the mountains, especially Snowdon where he took school trips as a headmaster – so for me this challenge is very fitting.
Sadly Dad died on August 1, we lost a great man, dad, husband and grandfather. Via this challenge I want to raise funds, however small to help Parkinson’s UK research and understand the disease. It may be possible in the future to give others a better life with this understanding.
I appreciate many people donated last year for my Spartan Race half marathon, and many donated at his funeral – but any help on this page is seriously appreciated, however small.
