Story

Thanks for visiting my Just Giving page. I've decided to run 10K for two reasons, personally It's the kick in the backside I need to get myself back into some sort of shape. I couldn't run 10m at the time of writing so it's a big thing for me to take on.

The main reason I'm running is because Great Ormond Street Hospital do some absolutely magical things. Some of you may be aware of Abby, the sweetest and kindest little girl you could every possibly wish to meet. She's a 4 (very nearly 5) year old that was born nearly 3 months premature. When she was born she weighed a little over 1lb and it was touch and go as to if she would even survive. Fortunately for everyone she survived and has blossomed into a beautiful little girl. She does unfortunately have a problem with her heart and is therefore scheduled to undergo open heart surgery performed by the amazing doctors and nurses at GOSH. Abby is one of the lucky ones, she will go home and be able to sing and dance and cause havoc like any four year old girl should be able too and this is in large part, not just for the fantastic work done by GOSH but the fantastic work done by the University Hospital of Wales (or The Heath as it is known by most of us) but not everyone will be as lucky as Abby. Some children at GOSH will spend their entire lives there. Imagine that? Whilst we are out at the pub, whilst we are playing football at park or going to the cinema to see the latest film there is a child at GOSH that may never have left the building they are confined too. The money you raise makes that slightly more bearable.

The day to day running costs of GOSH are met by the NHS but it relies on donations to the GOSH children's charity to remain at the forefront of Children's health care. GOSH are the best children's hospital in the world, it is as simple as that. The money raised by you and I will enable Abby and thousands of other children to get the treatment that they require and lead a better life.

I'm sorry this sounds a bit preachy but that's because I am preaching and if i could do it in the voice of Martin Luther King i would, you know why? BECAUSE I HAVE A DREAM, I HAVE A DREAM THAT Y'ALL HELP ME ACHIEVE MY VERY MODEST TARGET.
