Story
On August 4th 2013 I will be undertaking the Prudential Ride London 100, a 100-mile cycling event that follows the Olympic Road Race course, including the leg killers that are Leath Hill and Box Hill. Thankfully we won't be doing 9 laps 'a-la-wiggo' but it's still going to be seriously hard work to make it home upright..
I will be completing the course in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital as they are a charity with great significance to my family. As well as the Banks' they have given world class healthcare and specialist treatments to children of all ages for over 150 years. It is impossible to stress just how important the hospital has been in saving and improving countless lives over this period, so important that their work was celebrated with a starring role in the Olympic Opening Ceremony.
Incredibly, Great Ormond Street Hospital is funded entirely through charitable contributions and the donations of their patrons. It would be a pleasure and an honour to thank Great Ormond Street Hospital for the part they have played in our family's life by completing the 100-mile ride in their name and by raising a few quid along the way! Which is where you come in...
Please, please, please donate anything you can towards my page. If you promise to donate something, anything, then I will promise to finish the 100-mile route even if it means doing so with my chin on the handlebars and my knees scraping along the tarmac... I will make it!!
I've set a fundraising target of £500 but quite frankly you amazing people can smash that to pieces. Thank you all so very much for any contribution you can make and I will do my best to keep you updated on any progress.
Luke xx
