Marathon update!
Many thanks to everyone who has sponsored me to run the Brighton Marathon for Neuroblastoma Uk 🥰
Unfortunately due to a persistent hip injury I’ve had to adapt my 26 mile plans slightly as I’m no longer going to able to
Complete the 26 miles in one go 😔- Therefore I have split it into the Windsor Half marathon in Sept and the Reading Half a few weeks later. This will give allow me a a couple more weeks too recover and hoping my hip will hold up over a shorter distance 🤞. I am really disappointed not to be able to run at Brighton but pleased that I will be able to continue to raise money for such a worthy cause, even if not as originally planned.
Many thanks again - I’m almost at my £500 target 😀

On Sept 12th this I will be challenging myself to run the 26.2 miles of the Brighton Marathon for Neoroblastoma UK in memory of Elara Foxley, who tragically passed away aged 3, on March 7th of this year.
Elara was diagnosed in December 2019, after her mum Nicky noticed a persistent bruise under her eye. She underwent multiple courses of chemotherapy and radiotherapy as well as an operation to remove a “monster” which was living in Elara’s abdomen.
Elara was given the all-clear last summer but tragically the disease returned to her back and spine earlier this year and Elara lost her battle against Neuroblastoma, which she and her incredible mum Nicky had fought so courageously.
Neuroblastoma effects around 100 children in the UK each year and Neuroblastoma UK funds research projects to deliver new, effective and kinder treatments for children who are diagnosed neuroblastoma.
Although running and training for a marathon will be a personal challenge for me , the knowledge that every step I take is raising money for such a worthy cause and in memory of such an inspirational little girl is all the motivation I need to get me to the finish line! X
