Story
Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.
After an 'interesting' 2011 and a prolonged absence from physical challenges, this year I'm getting back in the saddle with a few events to get back on track: Blenheim Triathlon in June, followed by a 200+ mile bike ride through France and finishing with the Great South Run in October.
I was persuaded to do the bike ride 5 years ago, by my good friend Georgie, who lured me with pictures of the previous year's trip through the sun-drenched plains of Holland. I rapidly signed up to find we'd be riding from coast to coast in the UK through flooded, rain swept peaks of the Pennines - not quite what I had in mind, but it a truly fantastic experience.
This year, we will be saddling up on 21st June in the Burgundy region of France, starting near Dijon and cycling for 3.5 days, covering over 200 miles via Chalon sur Saone, Maçon and finishing up in Lyon.
Hopefully my trusty stead will be up to the job but 5 years on, stuck in a middle gear and refered to by Charlie as The Tank - (the bike, not me) it will no doubt be a challenge for bike and rider!
I know times are tight and I dont want to pester you with sponsorship requests, therefore I am only gently asking for your support for the bike ride, in aid of the Who Cares Trust - a small but very hard working and incredibly deserving charity which champions the cause of children and young people living in care in the UK. For more details visit http://www.thewhocarestrust.org.uk.
Anything you can give will be hugely appreciated and thank you for your kind support in advance,
Lucyx
