Story
This January I’m taking on Dryathlon® and raising money for Cancer Research UK. I’ll be ditching the drink for one month to help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
Those of you that know me well will realise what a massive undertaking this will be. I fear the 'Tipple Tax' may bankrupt me... For those of you who don't know me so well, I've provided a lovely 'gallery o' shame' for your enjoyment. And mockery.
I'm doing this to raise money for a very worthwhile charity who are hoping to put an end to cancer. 2013 was a good year- apart from a few scares, my mum carried on kicking cancer's ass. Having been through the hell of breast cancer, a double mastectomy, chemo and radio therapy, she is still recovering. Bravely, she's undergone more tests than I've had nights out - and that's saying something! Despite having beaten the cancer, she's still in and out of hospital for corrective surgeries, trying to get back a little of what cancer took from her. She is an amazing woman who never moans or becomes negative despite living what must be, at times, quite a difficult life filled with fear of cancer returning. We hope 2014 will be another cancer free year, but Cancer Research work to make sure, in the future, every year will be cancer-free.
Please donate what you can! If you owe me a drink, I'll take the price of a double vodka diet coke donated to my page ;) Every penny counts!
Thank you xxx
