Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After what feels like a lifetime of training on Sunday I completed this years Virgin London Marathon in 3hrs 28 minutes and 52 seconds!! My marathon experience truly has been one of the most challenging and painful things I have ever done but making it all worthwhile and providing me with the inspiration to push myself to the limit was the knowledge that every step I took was raising money for charity- The British Heart Foundation.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody for their generosity, the moral support received from colleagues, friends and family over the past few months has been overwhelming and hugely appreciated.
There are many great charities out there, however a charity particularly close to my heart is the British Heart Foundation. Heart and Circulatory disease are the UK's biggest killer, in 2007 it accounted for more than 190,000 deaths, thats about two thirds of all deaths. Hence there are very few of us whose lives have who have not been affected by this disease and sadly I am no exception having lost a loving father and a grandparent to heart related conditions.
The BHF is the nations heart charity dedicated to saving lives through pioneering research, patient care, campaigning for change and by providing vital information. The BHF spends £190 every minute of every day on life-saving research. Many of today's new drugs and treatments might never have been possible without the existence of the BHF. But to continue this life-saving work for future generations they need support.
