Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For those of you who know me well, you'll know that I am a very unlikely trekker. I've never been very interested in sport and am far more likely to take my own pillows even to a nice hotel than spend the night in a tent. You probably can't imagine how I'm going to last 7 days without washing my hair (...actually nor can I).
If you're wondering why I've never asked you to sponsor me to do anything before, it's because I've never done ANYTHING like this before!
It's going to be tough (despite the number of porters); not just the fitness and the challenge of reaching 19,500ft but also to be away from my family - especially Theo and Hettie. Hettie is just three and I know she won't really understand why I'll be away for two weeks.
But it will all be worth it if you help me to raise as much money as possible for Marie Curie. I'm paying for the trip myself so every penny raised will go directly to the charity. I've worked at Marie Curie for 6 years and remain so passionate about our work. Despite the many sad stories, we aren't a charity that is about death but for me one that is about life and making sure that every last minute of it can be lived to the fullest.
I can guarantee I won't ask you to sponsor me again. I'm never doing anything like this again, so please give generously to this great cause. Every £20 you give means that a family facing the loss of thier loved one in the UK can be supported for 1 hour by a Marie Curie Nurse. I hope with your help to give many hours of care to families at a time when they need it most.
Lots of love
Lucy
P.S. Thank you. Your support means so much to me.
