Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I must be mad doing this again! But how could I not? Peter has had such a tough year with his epilepsy. From September last year he has had a huge increase in his seizures, having 3-4 a week, and as a result he has missed most of year 10. I have two pictures of Peter on this page. One of him loving life on the way into the Elton John concert - what life should be like for a 15 year old. Unfortunately the other picture is all to often his reality. It is tough living with such an unpredictable condition. He is heading into year 11 in September not knowing whether he will make it through his exams without having a seizure. He turns 17 in 2023, but won't be able to have driving lessons like his friends. But he manages to face it all head on.
On 11th September 2022 it will 7 years to the day from Peter's first ever seizure. On that day I will be at the Great North Run trying to make it to the finishing line! Peter is an incredible young man who deals with his epilepsy with such grace and courage, and I'm hoping I can draw on some of his strength to get me around the course. I can't change his condition but I can raise awareness in the hopes that it reduces some of the stigma attached to epilepsy and make life a little easier for him.
