Story
Hi readers and thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. The reason you’re here? Because on Sunday 13th April, 2014 I'll be running 26.2 miles in aid of Epilepsy Research, a charity very close to my heart.
It’ll be the first time I’ve ever run this kind of distance before and every part of me is nervous about the grueling months of training and how my little legs will cope on the day.
But as I approach the big 3-0, completing the London Marathon in memory of my sister Joanne has been a big ambition of mine.
It will be thoughts of her that spur me on during the coming months of training and on the big day, when I face the grueling 26 miles around the capital.
What also motivates me to nail this challenge is the fact that I’m going to be raising valuable funds for Epilepsy Research who do some great things.
My sister was one of 600,000 people in the UK who suffer with this condition and Epilepsy Research is the only independent UK charity dedicated to independent research in this area.
They carry out between 4 and 9 scientific research projects on adult and childhood epilepsy every year. Because of this, they're able to make developments in drug therapy, medical scanning and understanding of the causes.
By helping me reach my £1,500 fundraising target, you’ll be helping them carry on this invaluable work.
So please follow my blog updates on how you can help me reach my target.
And in the meantime, please dig deep, click on the donate button and help me reach my goal!
And spare a thought for me pounding the pavements while you’re all in the pub (which is where I’ll be on the night of 13 April).
Cheers x
