My life has always involved Mental Health; generally that of others. Bipolar and anxiety runs in the family. As I’ve got older, had kids, and had more on my plate I’ve learnt to recognise that I too have mental health and I need to take care of it, diagnosis or not.
Those who know me well will find the idea of my running every day hilarious (I can hear the laughter guys). No, I am not an athalete or even fit, but I do know that getting moving makes me feel better in myself.
I also want to feel, in this current society, that I don’t just think about things, but that I act. I hope you can help me to raise awareness about Mind and all the great work they do and even better, raise some cash to continue it.
For those of you in the south West I have joined forces with some other great bloggers who I’ve had the privilege to share mental health stories with. We are all running in this great part of the country and so will pool any funding. They can be found on instagram: Emma @hashtagbadparent, Sarah @ sarahbakertroublemaker, @mamgetyourlippyon. Go #redrunwest
In the interest of full disclosure I will not be going for a substantial run every day but I will run in some way. I’ll keep up an honest account at my instagram and Facebook @mumsmental.
Thank you, Lucy
