Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Having only ever run in races at School Sports Day, (a long time ago unfortunately!), and not being particularly good at it, this is a big challenge for me! However, running around after my 3 children and being married to a professional sportsman, I am pretty much obliged to stay relatively fit!
I have always wanted to do a run for charity and seen it somewhere in my future but never came across one which I felt a pull towards. The Wigan 10K caught my attention, not only because it is in the town which my husband has been playing professional football for, for 7 years, but because it was "Joseph's Goal" which was promoting it on Twitter.
Now, after THAT historic FA Cup Final, in May this year, where my husband led his team out carrying little 4 year old Joseph onto the pitch at Wembley as lucky mascot, (it worked!), everyone around the country's heart-strings were pulled. Mine probably as much as Joseph's mum and dad! Naturally, if my hubby can do that for Joseph, surely I can run the Wigan 10K for him?
Joseph's Goal is such a worthy cause to help find a cure for the life-limiting disorder NKH which Joseph has. This charity is held very close to the hearts of many people from the town and also to Wigan Athletic FC. Joseph is a little star! So, please dig deep and donate now.
