Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 2015 · 2 August 2015 ·
As most of you know I like a challenge and this is one i've been wanted to do for a few years now. To ride the Prudential Ride for the London Wildlife Trust is a very special and a great charity close to my heart. Everyone should have the opportunity to see beautiful wildlife and learn about the wonderful wonders that exist on our doorstep. London has many stunning nature reserves that The London Wildlife Trust takes care of, sharing access to varied species of birds, trees, insects, animals, fishes. So get out there and take advantage of them. (I'm sure you do already)
The Prudential Ride London has been going for a few years now and starts in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, cycling through the City of London and down into Richmond Park, heading further south into Surrey hitting a few famous Surrey hills, Leith Hill and Box Hill. Before heading back up through Esher, back to London over the Putney Bridge through Chelsea, heading up to Trafalgar Square and sprinting down The Mall towards Buckingham Palace. (Easy Peasy). If Cavendish & Wiggins can do it, then so can we!!
The training has been a great challenge so far with many hours spent in the saddle exploring Kent and Norfolk's enriching countryside and quaint villages. We've still got many more training miles to put in before the actual RIde on 2nd August including a 70, a 80 and a 90 mile cycle ride, one each weekend. So there's plans to head to more hills and rolling countryside until then.
Thank you for visiting my page and I hope you can afford a little bit of money to help me/us raise my/our targets. If you're around on the day then we'd love to see you along the route to brighten the experience, or perhaps down the pub after to indulge in a few well earned pints!
