Lucas' 12 months without alcohol... Why did I start this before Christmas?

12 long months without alcohol... Why did I do this before Christmas? · 7 November 2016
Ale. Whiskey. Scotch. Alcohol.
The juice of the devil. I finished university 3 years ago now but for some reason I still think it's acceptable to go out and spend numerous amounts of cash on alcohol. After making a complete mockery of myself (again), I decided to look at how much I was spending on alcohol each year and I was staggered by the results. I'm currently saving for a house and wasting money on alcohol is not feasible.
The Goal.
I've set myself a challenge to go completely without alcohol (no swift pints after work, cheeky ones before the missus is back etc etc etc) for 12 months - until 7th November 2017. Those who know me will know how much I enjoy a beer and that this will be a big challenge - but one that I am comitted to 100%.
The Charity.
SpecialEffect are a great charity who provide those with physical disabilties with the opportunity to enjoy video games in innovative fashion. By using technology from eye control to modified joypads, they're finding a way for people to play to the very best of their abilities. Please take the time to watch the short 2 minute video below to see the great things that SpecialEffect are currently doing. Video games aren't just for fun, for those with disabilities they can be a great way for them to bond with friends and family in a way that they may not ever have before and also provide a postive impact on confidence, therapy and rehabilitation.

Yes, I know this has absolutely nothing to do with alcohol!
Thanks again,
Lucas.
