The Christie is a charity that is very close to my heart; my mum and uncle have been affected by cancer and have been treated at The Christie during their illnesses. It’s an incredible centre and with the help of donations the charity has been able to raise money outside of the scope of the NHS to fund their projects. I am not a runner and never have been, but I am going to try and run the 10k this year (without stopping!) and raise some money for a brilliant cause. We are also the first UK centre to be officially accredited as a comprehensive cancer centre...', 'We raise money to fund projects at The Christie which are outside the scope of the NHS. Last year we raised over £13 million. This money funded a number of different projects, from a new radiopharmacy, a new wig service and a state-of-the-art surgical robot to groundbreaking cancer research and communications skills training for nursing staff.  We couldn't do this without the fantastic support of people across the North West and around the UK.  Thank you for helping to improve cancer treatment and make cancer a thing of the past...'.
