A complete success so they are doing another one this year. Hurrah! I'm taking part in the because:

a) I love bootcamps

b) Julie & Juls wanted to host a charity bootcamp day, when I was well enough to take part.

c) I've beaten cancer once and I want to show cancer I can beat it again.

d) Raise vital funds to help predict, prevent & cure women's cancers (read more below).

Why raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer?

So many amazing women I know I have been affected by breast cancer like my bridesmaid, my aunt, my friend's mum, and one of my bootcamp buddies. Luckily nowadays, a lot of women survive. Thanks to the research done by charities like Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Tragically, some don't survive. I lost my grandmother and a very dear friend to breast cancer. I want to help more people beat cancer and survive.

The worst thing with cancer is once it sets in it can spread. So even if you start off having cancer in your breast it can spread to your lymph nodes, your spine, your liver, your bones, your brain and elsewhere. That's what happened to my friend.

I had stage 4 Primary Peritoneal Cancer and I beat it the first time in May 2013 and am now battling it again. There is link between my cancer, other gynaecological cancers and breast cancer. Research has proven that a gene fault in the BRCA1 or BRCA 2 genes increases the risk of these cancers. Causing people like Angelia Jolie to have pre-emptive surgery to prevent getting these cancers. So I am eager to support Breakthrough Breast Cancer in their ground-breaking research to help find a cure for women’s cancers for good.
