This is the second year I will spend without my dear mother, Frances. We lost her to breast cancer on boxing day 2008, and as many of you will remember we did a bit of fundraising last year to help prevent other families and our future generations going through the same tragedy. It was a very rewarding experience knowing that not only were we doing something that would make Mam really proud but also that every penny we raised was getting us closer to a future free from  breast cancer........

Well we're at it again!! Only this year we're taking it to the next level, our elite group of volunteer cyclists are taking on the coast to coast bike ride which is normally achieved in 3/4 days.  Being married to such a cycling legend, the idea came easy. However, this wasn't enough of a challenge for our intrepid sportsmen.....

They are attempting to complete it in an amazing 2 days!! This means that the first day involves around 80 miles of cycling! (a heck of a lot of which is uphill!)

They hold no fear, they are strong, they are determined, they have ex-continental pro Andy Dawson heading up the team. (Andy is making a Lance Armstrong inspired come back, wishing to re-create his glory days, racing along side the likes of Freddy Maertens).

We do however think there may be some chewing of the handlbars, so please show these lads your support and dig deep, this really will be an amazing feat if they can conquer it and they deserve all the encouragement we can give them!
