Story
On September 19th I'm taking part in the Fred Whitton Challenge - a bike ride, yes, and I do like riding my bicycle I appreciate, but this particular bicycle ride is classed as the toughest sportive in the UK. This one day event will see me taking on all of the lakeland passes over a total of 113 miles, including the giants of Kirkstone, Honister, Newlands, Whinlatter, Wrynose, Blea Tarn and the king of them all - Hardknott pass (featuring kindly at mile 98 with inclines over 30% - gross).
Deeming this challenge as challenging enough to ask for your money, I'm raising funds for Refuge.
A shocking one in four women will experience domestic violence at some point in her lifetime and two women are killed each week in England and Wales by a current or former partner. Your money would help Refuge in supporting around 6,000 women & children on any given day, experiencing domestic and sexual violence, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, stalking, trafficking, prostitution & so-called ‘honour’ based violence. By kindly sponsoring me today you are helping to save and change the lives of thousands of women and children escaping domestic violence. Thank you!
