Story
Louise's life changed very rapidly from when she was first detected as having cancer just over a year ago.
She had a cancerous kidney removed in April 2019. Within about four weeks she was off on the train down to London and back working. The hospital were impressed with such a rapid recovery.
But when they did a routine check some months later they found the cancer had spread and was now to be found in her lungs and brain but at very treatable levels.
At the same time as they told her that she had some minor spots in here brain they also told her that she was not allowed to drive anymore. This along with treatment made it harder for her to do much. I know that during this time she was very grateful to all those that gave their, support be it in a practical or emotional way.
For the brain cancer she underwent gamma knife treatment. Which worked in that it zapped all the shadow spots that could be seen on the scan.
But a standard check a few months later showed some new spots which was not good news. She was due to have another gamma treatment five days after she died.
But a bleed within her brain that was due to the cancer and treatment sadly ended the battle earlier than expected for her.
She spent a life always full of activity and energy and despite assorted ongoing treatment she was still pretty active and certainly very positive right up to the end. She was busy in the garden planting some lettuces and pulling some weeds the same week that she died
We are sure that she will be missed by a wide and varying mix of people both locally and dotted around the U.K. and Ireland as well as further afield.
She will be remembered by those whose lives have already been touched by her. But also her written works will continue to be enjoyed and experienced by new audiences as the years roll by.
