Story
I am raising money for The Psychiatric Ward 17 in St John’s Hospital, Livingston. This ward has taken great care of my Mum over the years and more so from 2008/2009. My Mum suffers from Bipolar and has done since she was 14. After being in hospital for 7 months in 2009 she has moved into her own house for the first time in 8 years and is doing so great. I am doing this to thank the ward, our family and friends for their support and also I’m doing this for Mum and to show people that you can have a normal life and be happy even if you do suffer from a mental illness. There is plenty of help out there and hopefully this money will help even more. Lots of people don't understand mental illness and this is to hopefully make people more aware.
For this event I will be doing a swimathon at Xcite Bathgate Swimming Pool on Thursday 29th September. I will swim 5k (200 lengths) of a 25m pool. 1 week to go. This has came along so quickly. Still the donations are coming through its very overwhelming. Really looking forward to my swim and even more looking forward to a holiday after it!
