Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am happy to announce that I completed the mile in 42.59 minutes. Conditions were perfect with sunny weather, low winds and water temperature a staggering 21 Celcius! I now have the bug for outdoor swimming! As you may have noticed, I have not yet reached my tartget of £500 (which turned out to be quite ambitous!) therefore the donation page is still open with anything up to £200 being an amazing contribution for my chosen charity. Thank you to those who donated already.
Further details of my charity and event:
I have decided to take up the challenge of swimming one mile in the Victoria Docks in London as part of the Great London Swim on July 3rd 2010, all in the name of raising much needed funds for SHSKPA; St. Helier and Surrey Kidney Patients Association.
SHSKPA relies heavily on donations and fundraising events to support the Renal Unit in improving it's facilities and the welfare of patients. It also sponsers the St Helier's Transplant Games Team.
I hope that you can see that this charity is worth every penny you give. So here is your challenge: please help me reach my target of £500. Please give as little or as much as you can afford.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Thanks for your support.
