Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
So, why am I running the London Marathon??
Chris says "Having run 2 marathons myself and vowing never to do another one, my involvement this time is limited to training and cheer-leading on the day...So many people were so generous when I ran in 2004. Please give again this time if you possibly can to help Louise reach the target she has set herself"
Jake adds "The more donations you give the less fund-raising chores I will have to do........"
Leukaemia doesn't always give people a chance so long term research is so very important, and for many the Anthony Nolan Register offers an immediate lifeline, a potentially curative second chance. Please also give a thought to signing up to the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Donor Register, details can be found at:
http://www.anthonynolan.org.uk/donating/70% of patients do not have family donor compatability and are reliant on unrelated donors to give them a chance of life. I've been on the register for about 8 years and would encourage everyone I know to sign up too.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the Anthony Nolan Trust and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
The Big Day- Well I did it:) in 6 hours, 24 minutes and 18 seconds. They say everyone remembers their exact time, to the second and I can understand why. Of course if you take off the 20 minute queue for the loo at mile 5 and the 15 minutes at mile 16 it sounds even better, but I wasn't doing it for a time, I was doing it as a celebration of life and as a tribute to Teresa, I am just thrilled to have finished at all. It was the most incredible experience and it is still sinking in that I actually achieved it.
Thanks to everyone for their support, but please please consider donating still if you haven't already because I am still to reach my target of £1,500
