Story
In June, I’ll be heading to Ecuador to climb the third highest active volcano in the world, Cotopaxi, and I need your support!
I’m trekking over 9 days to its summit at 5,897 metres above sea level, battling through freezing temperatures, fending off wild alpacas, condors, pumas, bears, llamas, and even humming birds, all while hopefully not succumbing to altitude sickness in the process.
Serious training is needed for this, and while a lot of you know that I love throwing weights around the place pretending I’m Brock Lesnar, apparently there will be no deadlift competition at the end of each stage, nor will there be any need to superset Biceps and Triceps... There's a long way to go before I'm ready, but I'm sure I can do it.
I’ve never done anything like this before, so here’s where I need YOU! This is my part towards helping raise £1million for Deloitte’s National Charity Partners ‘Alzheimer’s Society’, ‘Prostate Cancer UK’ and ‘Mind’. Moral support is always appreciated, but your donations really do go a long way.
Paying for this challenge is coming entirely out of my own pocket so every penny raised will go to the three charities. Pledge your support by donating to this page – I’ve got a goal of £1,250; let’s see if we can smash through that together.
Every donation really does count and will make a difference
to these charities.
£25 could give a man diagnosed with prostate cancer unlimited time to talk over treatment options with a specialist nurse
£50 could pay for 30 carers handbooks offering practical tips and insights to support for those caring for someone with dementia
£100 could keep the Mind info line open for one hour, helping 14 people
Thank you so much for your support!
