Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page :)
We are three lads, friends and family of Louis, running Brighton Marathon in his memory.
Louis was an incredible man who suffered though horrible circumstances which resulted in his untimely death in June last year. He was sharp, charming, and an impressive character, someone everyone remembered. Despite his outward appearance, Louis was battling an internal darkness which he tried to hide from in the false sanctuary of drugs. This slowly took over his life until he had nothing left to give.
Dealing with Louis' passing has been a struggle for us all, yet we can pull some solace from knowing we can help prevent the same story for another family. Louis turned to Catch22 in a moment of clarity and they were there to support him. For 9 months, he and Theresa (his mentor) built a bond of trust and encouragement which gave him the strength to fight his habit. After moving to University he was unfortunately out of their reach, and it's from there his life took a steady decline. For their great work we owe Catch22 a debt of gratitude.
The incredible work Catch22 does to support those struggling with substance abuse is just the tip of the iceberg for services they offer. They help young people with a plethora of issues including: youth justice, gang violence reduction, opening schools and supporting social entrepreneurs. The list goes on.
