Story
Thank you for visiting!
During the month of May, myself and a lot of my Crossfit buddies have taken on the challenge of virtually climbing a mountain, by using a 20” box to step on. The amount of steps will gradually increase during the month, with a whopping 1200 steps a day towards the end of the month.
This is what I am up against:
T800 MOUNTAIN CHALLENGE
NUMBER OF STEPS | AVERAGE STEPS PER DAY
HEIGHT | ON A 20 INCH BOX/STEP
EVEREST: | 8848 M | 17,417 | 581 |
This is going to be tough, and I thought sponsorship might motivate me to not give up, keep moving on up and reach that (virtual) peak!
The charity I have chosen to climb for is Polar Bears International. I feel strongly about protecting all our animals and environment as a whole, and if lockdown has taught us anything, it’s that our beautiful planet that we all call home deserves a breather and better treatment, as do all the animals affected by human activity.
But, through my work, I have gained a huge understanding of the importance of protecting our polar regions (some of the purest, most unspoiled wildernesses still out there) in particular, and their importance to the rest of our planet. I was supposed to go to the Arctic this summer and would have somehow used that expedition to raise awareness and funds, so now I though I might as well do it through my virtual mountain climb!
