Story
Welcome to my Abseil Challenge page. I am taking part in this challenge to support the patients, families and staff across Children's Health Ireland hospitals and urgent care centres. Each and every day across CHI hospitals and urgent care centres in Connolly, Crumlin, Tallaght and Temple Street, sick children and their worried parents are coming through the doors in need of world-class paediatric care and treatment.
The 25th September is a special day for me. It is my niece Cliodhna (Beany) Pearson’s birthday. She would have turned 10 💓
But unfortunately last week she lost her 6 year battle against Neuroblastoma (a Cancer of the Central Nervous System). This amazing, brave, beautiful, kind, loving little girl, fought with everything she had, always smiling and always believing. Crumlin Hospital were amazing throughout this whole journey. But unfortunately this year for Beany’s birthday I cannot take her shopping for a gift, I cannot watch her excitement as her birthday approaches, I cannot see her face as she wears her new birthday dress or see her blow out her birthday candles on her personally designed cake.
But my gift to her will be to face my fear of not having my feet firmly on the ground and to abseil down Croke Park at 10 am on her birthday and to try to comprehend all the fears and challenges that she faced in her short life and she faced them with courage and a smile. Continuing to astound everyone.
So help me to raise funds for these hospitals, so that Children like Beany and their families can have the best treatments and the best chance for a happy ever after story. RIP Beany, x 💖
