Story
Welcome to the London Metropolitan University London Met for Nepal fundraising page. The University is launching a fundraising campaign for Nepal in response to the humanitarian crisis in the country, caused by an earthquake on 25 April and 12 May 2015. Basic items have been provided but people still need help.
London Met’s partner institution Islington College Nepal, based in Kathmandu, has nearly 1,000 students enrolled on London Met courses. A number of University staff have been to the country and developed relationships with their Nepalese colleagues. There have been student exchanges between London Met and Islington College Nepal. Architecture students from the CASS spent weeks in Kathmandu working on its infrastructure enhancement. The tragedy has affected the entire University community.
For these reasons we have decided to run a fundraising campaign consisting of individual activities taking place throughout the year. We have already witnessed Dr Hazel Messenger abseiling down the ArcelorMittal Orbit at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park raising over £1,000. The campaign will be officially launched at the major fundraising event on 18 June at the Rocket 166-220 Holloway Rd, N7 8DB. Tickets for this event can be purchased via: http://met.ac/nepalevent18
We hope you’ll find this campaign as inspiring as we do and get involved in helping Nepal to get back on its feet. Our fundraising events are fun and for everyone to enjoy whilst supporting a good cause. So if you can, come along and if not, we accept any donations through our official site here. You can see our upcoming events and follow all news stories at the London Met website.
