Story

Thank you so much for all your generous donations. I am going to have a last push to raise my £1000 target. Our story so far.

Since we started raising funds, Matilda has continued to become more disabled, her legs continue to deform, restricting her movement and all this hinders her ability to walk. We can stop this from getting any worse by sending Matilda to america for Surgery. Time really is crucial to her recovery and her long term her ability to live an independent life.

As a close freind of the family, I have been there for the highs and the lows throughout her life, but watching this beautifull little girl struggle in pain with feeding and leg cramps is heart breaking.

The family have decided they can wait no longer and have booked her operation for spring, despite not yet having raised the funds to send her. They are very brave and doing everything they can for their little girl. If I could wave a magic wand and get the £15,000 still needed to cover this years operation and fees all our worries would dissapear. But, life is not like that. So I am begging you, from the bottom of my heart, to spare the price of a coffee, or anything you can afford to help this family.

Thank you

Matilda is the daughter of Lois’s friends Lindsey and Dave. She is 2 years old and earlier this year was diagnosed with Periventricular Leukocemia, a type of brain damage which has caused Spastic Diplegia Cerebral Palsy. This means that her legs do not work properly and that she can only walk safely with a walker. In addition her fine motor skills are not as they should be and her sleep patterns are interrupted because of the resulting leg cramps.

Matilda needs a procedure called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy.  This is available in the USA and we are fundraising to assist with the costs of the operation. We need to raise at least £60,000.
