Story

Well, less than a week to go and I'm not exactly brimming with confidence! I was in the area where I will be running last week and by-gum are there some hills!!

I'm sure I'll manage it on the day and I've got someone who is nicknamed 'marathon-man' to spur me on as we race! What I'm more worried about is that I'm not going to reach my target of £100. Anyone with a pound or two to spare please donate! And don't forget to tick the giftaid box - 25% more money from the government at no cost to yourselves! Lovely jubbly!

This run is going to ruin me! Make it worthwhile by donating heaps and heaps :D

In 2 week ill be running the Torbay half marathon for Rainbows children's trust. any donations would be fantastic!

In 3 weeks I will be running the Torbay Half Marathon in aid of Rainbow Trust Children's Charity, and it would mean the world to me if you guys could support me in any way possible. It is as simple as that.

Except.

I'm not a runner and I never have been. I was always the pasty-white kid at the backend of the race, thighs chaffing and dreaming of Willy Wonka's factory. I've never even done a 5k before so this is more than challenging, but it is something that needed to be done.

Through the trials and tribulations that go hand-in-hand with completing a masters degree (not to mention being a drama-ridden young thing) I somehow managed to gain 2 stone more than my poor body can naturally handle. 6 months later and I am well on my way to clearing that extra weight and very nearly ready for my half marathon.

The Charity I am running for might not be well known to some of you, but that in itself is a good enough reason to support them. They provide vital care for children suffering from life threatening illnesses and their families. Any money you give won't just disappear into a vast pot of charity aid.

£100 pays for five visits to a child in hospital

£500 keeps their 24 hour telephone helpline running for a month

£800 pays for 40 hours of care from a Family Support Worker

I'm not expecting to raise massive amounts of money as there isn't much time left, but if we could at least pay for those 5 visits that would be something.
