Story
OK, so it's that time again, and I'm just recycling last year's page. It'll be a limping kind of run this year, but the thought's the same! Thanks folks....
2009 page: I need to say a massive thank you to everyone who has given so generously in support of Epilepsy Action. I've been quite overwhelmed, and really touched by people's kindness.
I'm delighted with my time - a new personal best at 54.40. And look who finished a second behind me; only the sporting legend Ron Hill. I hope I'm running like him at 70! What an inspiration that was, to run in his footsteps for half the race.
Congratulations to everyone who took part, especially Matt fleetfoot Flanagan, who came in at 45.18; not forgetting Mum and Eileen who did the fastest speedwalk ever and turned up way before we were expecting them; and the speedy sisters Molly and Hanna who did so well in the kids' Fun Run with their cousin Alex.
But the focus of the day for me was to honour my brother Ben's memory, and to raise money for a charity that supports people with epilepsy.
With love and most sincere thanks
Lizx
