Story
Thanks for getting this far! It would be great if you would sponsor me. I first stumbled on Glasgow Women's Library when I was still working for the BBC. They are an amazing group of women who do the most wonderful work. And their collection, with everything from Suffragette's board games, to CND badges (showing my age), to first editions of Radclyffe Hall's "The Well of Loneliness" is awe-inspiring. And really worth protecting for future generations of women.
But I suppose what I most respect about them is the brilliant work they do with women in the local community, for example oral history and with BME women. Their work encompasses all ages and all backgrounds.
GWL have had to move premises a number of times in their 21 year existence and these new premises will allow them to a) make their wonderful collection available to the public and b) extend their work with women in the community.
