On Saturday 1st May along with Dave, Mike, Pete and Jim, I will be taking part in a 20 mile walk to raise money for St. Leonard's Hospice, York - a place where our lovely Mam was given the most wonderful care a few short weeks before she died in her own home with her family around her.

It was a privilege to share in Mam's care during those final days and the close bond we all experienced in caring for her together is something special that we all value so much. This walk is the next stage in that team effort. We want to pay back just a little to the Hospice for the love and care they showed to Mam. They quickly saw what we as a family already knew; that she was a real character - full of fun, always grateful and had a great capacity for love. The staff enjoyed her company as she did theirs and we will always be grateful for the part they played in her final weeks.
