Olney Tennis Club is holding the 2021 American Tournament in memory of fellow member and keen tennis player Liz Barr.

 On 19th July Liz passed away from a major heart attack, as a result of an undiagnosed condition, coronary heart disease. She was just 63 years old and was a loving, kind, effervescent lady who was also a supportive Mum, wife, sister and an all-round very special friend.

CHD kills more than twice as many women as breast cancer in the UK every year, and is the single biggest killer of women worldwide. Despite this, symptoms often go undetected and it is often considered a man’s disease. Women may be less likely to seek medical attention quickly as warning signs can be only slight. 

The British Heart Foundation is a UK charity organisation that funds research related to heart and circulatory diseases. There is still so much to learn about the heart, and your support will help their efforts to carry out further research.
