Light the Lakes 2023

Light the Lakes 2023 · 23 June 2023 to 24 June 2023 ·
I have signed up for Light the lakes again this year…
Light the lakes is an incredible organisation whose events are created to remember our fallen police officers! I am taking part again in honour of my late husband Andrew Harper, it’s coming up to four years since he was taken from me and not a day goes by that I don’t miss him terribly. He is forever in my heart and being able to climb the wainwright peaks and light a blue flare along with hundreds of other people is a truly special and heartwarming spectacle.
I will be climbing this year with a small group including Sam Dixon, we will remember our husbands Andrew and Dixie together. Along with our friends and police officer family. We mark this event with pride and love and show that our hero’s will never be forgotten x
If you can please donate and help me raise money for the Cops charity who do some amazing work it would be very appreciated x

The event raised in excess £30,000.Since then Light the Lakes has become an established event in the climbers diary where Police Officers, colleagues and friends climb Wainwright peaks in the Lake District to raise money to support COPS (Care of Police Survivors) who relentlessly work to provide peer support and access to counselling services to help surviving family members rebuild their shattered lives. They have helped hundreds of police families devastated by the loss of a loved one who died on duty. The Vision has always been to cover all 214 Wainwright fells to light a flare in honour of our fallen colleagues. The 2012 event was the foundation Ian Davis laid for Light the Lakes with the ambit
