Story
Hello, you.
On Sunday 11 March 2012, The Royal Marsden are hosting The Marsden March: a sponsored 14-mile walk between their hospitals in Chelsea and Sutton. All funds raised go directly to The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity – a cause which is incredibly close to my heart and one for which I’d be mighty stoked to raise as much money as possible. And so, Lisa’s Lovelies, my team of wonderful walkers (and wheelchair-pushers) have joined together, uniting in our blisters to do just that.
The Royal Marsden Hospital has become something of a second home to me, following a pesky breast-cancer diagnosis at the age of 28. Some three years down the line – with newly grown hair, a newly published book and a newly perky rack – I dared to assume that I’d seen the worst… only for the c-word to crop up once more: this time in my bones and brain, and this time incurable.
Hence, The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity means a helluva lot to me – no, to all of us. What would mean even more, however, is if you’d see fit to shift a few quid from your bank account to this sponsorship page (claiming Gift Aid if you’re a UK taxpayer), and then tell as many people as possible that you’ve done so, in the hope that they’ll want to be just like you (hoo hoo) and do the same.
Thanks in advance, lovely person.
Wish us luck!
Lisa (and her lovelies) x
