We provide wigs to children with cancer to restore their confidence and identity.

Story

Hi, my name is Amelie.  A few years ago our family friend who is like an aunty to me got breast cancer and she had no hair because of the treatment.  She is better now and her hair is back but I remember it when it was really short.  My hair is really long and I want to cut it shorter and it's brilliant that I can recycle it to help somebody who has cancer and has to lose their hair.  My mum is going to cut her hair too. I think if I had cancer I would like to have some hair so when I go out people wouldn't stare at me. Please give money because the wigs are very expensive to make and also they are trying to find nicer ways to treat cancer for kids but it is also expensive. Thanks. Love Amelie (age 10)

Update!

Hi, it's Amelie.  Thank you for donating! Mum will be running every day to run 100km in 30 days to try and raise more money to help the Little Princess Trust.  I am going to run 4km a week to help raise more money as well.  We hope we can raise £800 or more to help the charity.  If you can post this to all your friends and get them to donate too that would be brilliant.  Thank you very much, from Amelie.

As a parent I cannot imagine anything worse than having to see your child in suffering and pain.  One of my old friends had to do just that in June 2019 when her little boy was diagnosed with Leukemia.     Her son, now 5 years old, continues undergoing chemotherapy for another year until November 2022.  I remember when his brother and sister cut their hair to make him feel better when he started treatment, and how he had the biggest smile in the photo of the 3 of them cuddled together.   September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, so it seems appropriate for us to finally go for the big chop this month.  If through our own tiny, small gesture of cutting our hair and raising money Amelie and I can help a child or young person feel that little bit better at their weakest point, we will be happy to have had our own mini part to play in the fight against cancer. By donating you can play your part too!   Every penny you give here* goes directly to The Little Princess Trust which focuses on funding research into childhood cancers, as well as making free, real hair wigs for children. Please give generously! Lisanne  x

Update!

Wow well, we smashed our target of £400 in a matter of days, thank you so very, very much to all who have donated! However....I have been challenged to DOUBLE our original target and make it £800! I have decided to add a physical element by running 100km in a month...that's a minimum of a 3.6km run a day, every day, for 30 days. Oh....and I don't run usually, I sit, drink coffee and read...a lot! I tested myself the past few days to see if it was feasible, and though I am not fast, I think I can do it... but I need YOUR help. Please share this page/link with all your friends and contacts, and on social media to help us get to our new target of £800...if we do reach it I will also go for a "pixie cut" courtesy of the lovely Marina at Urban Angels Hair Salon who are donating the haircuts for me and Amelie.    Please, please, PLEASE, help us get to £800 and help the Little Princess Trust make even more of a difference to the children and young people who receive their support.  Lisanne x

UPDATE!  HELP US GET TO £1000! Share, donate, share!

UPDATE!  We did it!  Amelie and I both ran our targets in record time AND we raised over £1000!  This is all due to YOUR generosity and support!  Thank you so very much, just got the Big Chop to get through now!  Lisanne x

When a child loses their hair to cancer or another condition, we'll be there with a free, real hair wig to help restore their confidence and identity. We won't stop until the research that we fund ends childhood cancer forever. Promise. Please visit us at www.littleprincesses.org.uk to find out how you can help us give young people back what cancer takes away. The Trust relies solely on the efforts of enthusiastic community fundraisers. We receive no formal funding. Please help to raise money for us so that we can help more families.
