Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page!

A note from Lisa:

I am fortunate to work for this very special charity - The Hospice of St Francis in Berkhamsted - in the Human Resources department.

Having worked here for nearly a year now and seen all the amazing fundraising events going on, I really want to give something back, to get involved "hands on". My wonderful partner, Elie, has kindly agreed to join me on this twirling, swirling adventure!

This past year has been challenging, and I feel it is particularly poignant that I started working here. My Uncle Pete and my Grandpa, aptly called Francis, both sadly passed away in 2014.

So this event is also in memory of them.

To my Uncle Pete, whose humour, wisdom, fun company and vibrant zest for life never ceased to brighten the darkest day, encouraging me to make the most of my life and seize every opportunity coming my way - here I am seizing!

To my Grandpa Francis, who inspired the performer (I usually stick to acting!) inside me and introduced me to the wonderful world of amateur dramatics, this dance performance is for you: I know you will be there to guide me every step of the way.

Any donations for this cause and this rather daunting event we've signed up for will go a long way.

I intend to keep a blog during the 6 weeks of dance lessons in the build up to the grande finale, so stay tuned for further reading if I haven't bored you with this essay!
