Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Saturday 10th July I will be taking part in the Severn Trent Mountain Challenge 2010 with some of my colleagues from work. We are walking 10 miles - this doesn't sound too hard but it's in the Peak District so will include a lot of hills - although living in Gedling I have had some practice at these! - to raise money for WaterAid. WaterAid is an international non-governmental organization focused exclusively on improving poor people's access to safe water, improved hygiene and sanitation. WaterAid now work in 26 countries in Africa, Asia and the Pacific region transforming lives by improving access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation. Every £15 raised in sponsorship enables WaterAid to help one more person gain access to safe, clean drinking water, effective sanitation and hygiene eduction. 1.4 million children die every year from diarrhoea caused by unclean water and poor sanitation - 4,000 child deaths a day or one child every 20 seconds to an entirely preventable public health crisis. (WHO/WaterAid). All monies raised from this even will go directly to support WaterAid's projects in Ethiopia.
