Fundraising for Guide Dogs
I am registered blind and rely on Kerry my guide dog to help me with getting me around. She helps me go to work, do the school run, see friends, teach braille, take my daughter out and have a social life like rock climbing. Without Kerry I would have to rely on other people like my daughter to go out.
I am doing this rock climb, the equivalent of climbing big Ben (hence the name) to help towards funding to guide dogs. I will have my fantastic paraclimber assisting me throughout kindly giving up his spare time for this fantastic event. Guide dogs don't receive government funding and rely on generous public funding to help continue providing a fantastic breeding program to assist the mobility and independence to visually impaired and blind people like myself. Without Kerry and the generosity of the public I would not be able to be me.
The event is taking place at the Xcel leisure centre in walton on Sunday 11th December 2016 at 1:30pm. Anyone wishing to come along to cheer me on and support me are more than welcome. My training videos can be found at high sports Elmbridge Facebook page who are supporting and funding the equipment for this fantastic event. How it will work on the rock wall which is the height of a 2 storey building I will be climbing this 8 times to achieve the desired 96m (16 storeys high) testing my mental and physical agility
