The JCT works tirelessly to protect and promote this spectacular coastline of Dorset and Devon. They also have a meaningful educational programme that engages all ages and helps tell the story of our planet. The coastline is a physical record of the earth's natural processes. It can be seen and experienced today because of the work of the JCT.

Also, in my work as a counsellor, I have witnessed the positive effect of the power of nature on people. The experience of being outdoors and moving around in nature whether it be walking, running, yoga, meditation or cycling can contribute to lessening the impact of low mood, isolation, depression, anxiety and loneliness. Places, like the Jurassic Coast, can offer that experience up to people. Whether it be an opportunity to simply gaze out at the sea or run up and down the hills. Nature can provide a space for this experience of connection to others, or yourself or just a particular moment.This is why it is important to me to help protect the spaces that can be, in some small or significant way, transformative for people.
