Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In April 2016 I will be running the London Marathon in support of the National Osteoporosis Society (NOS) and all those unable to run or are worried about running, because they suffer with it. Through close family members I have witnessed first hand the effects and worries the condition brings.
Osteoporosis is a fragile bone disease, affecting bone strength. If you have Osteoporosis, your bones can break more easily, especially if you have a fall. Over a third of women and one in five men in the UK have one or more bone fractures because of Osteoporosis in their lifetime.
The National Osteoporosis Society support researchers and healthcare professionals in improving the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis and fragility fractures. Only 25% of adults are familiar with the term Osteoporosis, yet it still remains an incredibly debilitating and serious condition which affects around 3 million people in the UK.
I will be running this marathon to raise awareness and support for NOS to help them continue the fabulous work they do, not only for my family, but for all others with Osteoporosis.
Thank you ever so much for any donation, your help and continued support.
