On the 1st August our lives changed forever when our son, Abel, was born prematurely. Abel passed away peacefully in our arms shortly after arriving. 

The impact he has made in his short life has been monumental for us. He has changed our lives forever and we would like to extend his legacy to others by raising money for the Lily Mae Foundation. 

This charity provides support for parents who have suffered still born and neonatal loss. The main area of their fundraising is for memory boxes. 

After the shock of loosing Abel we were given a memory box for him, containing his hand and foot prints in clay and ink, two teddies. One for Abel and one for us,  and other keepsakes that are now so incredibly precious to us. Our box was donated in memory of another baby lost too soon and we would like to raise money for at least two boxes for other families, in memory of Abel. 

Boxes cost just less than £80 and not everyone receives them. If we had been in a different hospital we would not have these memories of Abel. 

Alex and I would never have known about this foundation if it weren’t for Abel, and we cannot express the importance of foundations like this and the items we have for Abel because they exist.
